Many layers of oil paint or pastel go into my work, creating a third dimension in each original piece. The subject matter changes dependant on what strikes my heart and mind: It varies from a study of a single flower in a mountain meadow to the wide open expanses of the Alaskan wilderness. I also love to paint wildlife, horses and dogs. My initial training started by taking lessons in California with two master artists followed by palette knife workshops from Don Foster. Recently, I have attended Liz Haywood-Sullivan's and Maggie Price's workshops. I believe an artist can improve and grow no matter how experienced or talented they are. I have been juried into 26 National and International shows in the last 24 months and took Paint America's Judge's Award for "Top Mini 50." In 2009 I was included in Salon International's exhibition, and invited to the Wyoming Arts Council Plein-Air Event hosted by Southwest Art. I have a studio in Estes Park and live in Loveland, Colorado with my beloved basset hounds and husband.
